Try new things, learn new skills and discover what you excel at—all from Day One.Job DescriptionThe Sr. Analyst supports the Sports Finance Group’s bankers and product specialists in the origination, structuring, and execution of corporate and investment banking activities across the professional sports sector. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and contributing to a high-performing team environment with a proven leader in the sports banking industry. ResponsibilitiesAssist Sports Finance Group bankers and key partners in coordinating all aspects of the transaction process from the initial pitch process through transaction closing, while developing the capabilities and experience to lead the execution process.Prepare transaction written documents including term sheets and offering memorandaDevelop reports and charts for proposals, presentations, and investor meetingsConnect directly with prospective investors to help market transactionsConduct preliminary review of legal documents involved in transactionsMaintain comparable transaction database and investor universe analysesAnalyze / prepare financial reports and models (e.g., cash flow models and capital structure analyses)Execute due diligence on new client opportunities.Analyze sports M&A and stadium development market trends and identify investment opportunitiesPrepare presentations and marketing pitch booksSupport the execution of planned transactionsPosition entails the preparation of client presentations and financing proposals, peer analyses, and financial modelingMany client presentations involve several capital markets alternativesCreate and maintain transaction documentationOrganize and oversee the transaction process (find potential investors, manage relationships with investors, organize meetings)Qualifications2 years of investment banking, corporate banking or corporate development / M&A experience, preferably in the sports industryBachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or equivalent work experiencePrior investment banking or corporate banking training program desirableSeries SIE / 79 / 63 licenses are required (not required prior to joining the firm)Demonstrated knowledge of professional sports leagues, teams, ownership structures, venue economics, and sports-related investingAbility to work independently and think creativelyAbility to discuss current trends in franchise valuations, institutional capital participation, league expansion, and venue developmentPassion for the business of sports, with a track record of following industry developments and transaction activityExperience utilizing AI tools to enhance research, financial analysis, workflow automation, and investment diligenceAbility to identify emerging trends and assess their potential impact on sports teams, leagues, and investorsCan articulate investment themes around subjects such as sports tech / AI, globalization of leagues, private capital, and other trendsPreferred Skills / ExperiencePosition is in Charlotte, NCStrong written and verbal communication skillsSolid foundation of economics and finance theoryStrong Excel and PowerPoint skillsEvidence of sports business industry research (academic and/or in current job role)Ability to work well under pressure and time constraintsSelf-motivated with a keen desire to learn and contribute within a dynamic team environmentWell-developed analytical skillsStrong ability to understand and analyze complex financing structuresAbility to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneouslyAbility to identify and resolve complex problems with minimal guidanceOutstanding attention to detail Compensation:Base pay for this role usually falls within the $110,000 range and will include an annual discretionary incentive.Your compensation expectations will be discussed with a U.S. Bank recruiter if you are contacted to discuss the role further.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
