Job Description

Esports And Technology Specialist Are you ready to be the person who changes everything for a teenager? At the Teen Woodlands Impact Center — part of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northwest Suburbs — we believe the right mentor at the right moment can alter the entire trajectory of a young person's life. This is your chance to be that person! We're looking for passionate individuals who are ready to show up for middle and high school students — to guide them, challenge them, and cheer them on as they navigate some of the most formative years of their lives. Whether you bring skills in the arts, athletics, academics, life skills, or simply a wealth of lived experience, there is a teenager here who needs exactly what you have to offer. When you join our team, you're not just filling a role — you're stepping into a calling. You'll build real relationships, share your knowledge, and walk alongside young people as they grow into the adults they're becoming. The lessons you pass on, the confidence you help them build, the doors you help them open — that impact doesn't end when they leave our doors. It follows them for life. Join a team dedicated to setting teens up for success — not just for today, but for the rest of their lives. The impact you make here is lasting. The connections you build are real. Your next chapter starts here! Position Overview The Esports and Technology Specialist leads engaging gaming and technology programming for youth at the Impact Center. This role is responsible for facilitating structured esports activities using popular titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Minecraft, and Valorant, while also introducing participants to digital skills that support academic success, creativity, and future career pathways. Youth Development Professional (YDP) Responsibilities Create a welcoming, safe, and structured environment where youth feel seen and supported. Mentor young gamers to develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Use Esports as a platform to promote academic success, positive behavior, and personal growth. Help youth build real-world tech skills that support future learning and career readiness. Staff & Volunteer Leadership Recruit, train, and lead program staff and volunteers who share a passion for youth and technology. Offer ongoing training in Esports and digital literacy to keep the team growing. Coordinate schedules for practices, tournaments, and daily programming. Community Engagement & Partnerships Build connections with schools, colleges, Esports organizations, and tech companies. Help secure sponsorships, equipment donations, and community support. Represent BGCNWS at Esports events and help grow our presence in the gaming community. Facility & Equipment Management Oversee the setup, maintenance, and safe use of all gaming and technology equipment. Keep systems updated and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal gameplay.
